Ways to Say Thank You And
Show Gratitude To Service Members

During Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to thank those who are serving in the Armed Forces and their families for all the sacrifices they make. Here are some ways to show your gratitude and possibly make a difference in their lives.

Actually Say “Thank You” | You can simply say “thank you”, but it becomes more meaningful when you share your connection to the military - are you a veteran? is a family member in the service? etc. This personal touch shows that you understand the immense sacrifices that our military makes every day.

Offer Your Services | You can thank and support service members by offering your expertise or services in support of their post-military career search. Job searches can be challenging for both members leaving service and members of their families due to constant moves and deployments. You can offer career advice and assistance in translating their acquired military experience to civilian positions. The USO Pathfinder® Transition Program equips service members and military spouses with the tools they need to tackle the civilian job market. The program is always looking for guest lecturers.

Send A Care Package | Care packages give service members a small reminder of home, just when they may need it the most. Oftentimes the process of being matched with a service member can be complicated. One way you can send a care package to deployed soldiers is by making a monetary donation to the USO to support the organization’s operations, which include sending care packages. The USO also has the USO Wishbook program where you can select a symbolic gift (like a care package) to be sent to service members. The USO delivers more than 170,000 care packages annually to troops all around the globe.

Volunteer Your Time | You can volunteer your time with many military support organizations to show your support for our troops. You can really show your gratitude in a meaningful way when helping firsthand. It is rewarding to connect directly with the military community and thank them for their sacrifices.

Donate To The USO | The USO’s brick-and-mortar centers around the world serve as a home away from home for deployed service members, as well as a place of respite for the larger military community. The organization has a long track record of supporting the troops since World War II. A donation to the USO supports programs to keep deployed troops connected to their loved ones back home, provide resources for service members, and boost morale through entertainment and supportive events.

PCSMoves.com wants to take this time to express our appreciation and thanks to all who serve, with our Military Relocation services that will assist with home buying and selling during your next PCS move. Happy Thanksgiving!
