National Military Appreciation Month

May is National Military Appreciation Month. The idea behind the month is to honor all who serve or have served. Military life has some unique challenges, some much more difficult than others. To say thanks to the soldiers and their families, many businesses offer great deals for Memorial Day and some throughout the entire month.

The National Military Appreciation Month website (nmam.org/events.htm) offers a break down of many of the bigger celebrations that are occurring in states across the nation. To find what is happening around you make sure to search the internet for military appreciation events in your hometown. You might be surprised at the events or deals that you can find for you and your family.

MilitaryBridge.com is another great site that helps connect local businesses with military folks and offers many deals not just for National Military Appreciation Month, but also for the entire year. They have an exceptional round up of localized deals and information for events and details that might be interesting, even if not local. Sometimes if the deal is good, the day trip is worth it!

During difficult times, it can be tough to feel appreciated. A month really isn’t enough to focus on the families that give so much to help protect our nation, but it is a nice reminder that there are plenty of places that appreciate and support the sacrifices made.
