In Virginia, Hampton Roads is a beautifully diverse area that is home to several different military bases. That said, there are quite a few local businesses and attractions that offer special deals and discounts for military personnel and their families. Whether you’re a Hampton Roads local, have recently been stationed here, or are just passing through, be sure to make the most of these discounts during your stay. 

Norfolk Botanical Gardens

Explore 175 acres of fresh air and beautiful garden space in Norfolk, VA. The gardens offer $2 general admission tickets with a valid military ID.  

Virginia Zoo

The Virginia Zoo is home to over 700 different animals along with a variety of plant species from all over the world. Spend the day walking around the zoo’s paths and explore the animal kingdom and plants surrounding it! The zoo offers $2 off general admission for all military and first responders. 

Virginia Living Museum 

Located in Newport News, the Virginia Living Museum depicts Virginia’s natural heritage from the land to the ocean. The museum boasts over 250 living species native to Virginia through discovery centers, traditional exhibits, and live hands-on exhibits. As a thank you to all military personnel, the museum offers a $1 discount for daily admission or a $15 discount for any level of general membership. Veterans and retirees also qualify!

Virginia Aquarium and Adventure Park at the Aquarium

At the Virginia Aquarium, retired military, active duty service members and immediate family members qualify for $2 off general admission with ID. Experience hands-on exhibits, nature paths, and marshlands - you can even plan a boat excursion! The aquarium has over 800,000 gallons of water and aquatic life to explore and even has a 3D theater that runs educational documentaries for all ages.

Busch Gardens

Through the “Waves of Honor” program,  military members can receive one complimentary admission per year to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. This discount includes active-duty military, activated or drilling Reservists, and National Guardsmen, and even three direct dependents.

Nauticus

The Nauticus Science Center and Museum is located in the beautiful Norfolk, VA. Spend your day on the water exploring the Battleship Wisconsin and the many exhibits the museum has to offer inside.
